Easter 2011

We had a relatively predictable Easter this year.

Regardless of how that sounds, it's actually a good thing.  Sometimes our holiday events end up taking an unexpected turn.  Such as the Christmas vacation that involved no less than six trips to the airport, 12 inches of snow, 3 days of constant flight status monitoring and someone's allergic reaction to antibiotics.  Heck, that was all before we even left Seattle!  Then there was the Emergency Room visit on my Birthday when Tanya had an allergic reaction, the kids were freaking out that we'd be arrested for leaving the restaurant without paying and they saw an ER patient get handcuffed to a gurney by a police officer.

Yes, predictable Holidays are our favorites.

The day before Easter, Sue and Steve arrived along with Gavin and Aleigh.
We all had fun coloring Easter Eggs.

Alright, the kids had fun coloring eggs. The dog enjoyed waiting for someone to drop something and the rest of us had fun doing anything except coloring eggs.

The cousins slept over at our place and we did our best to capture four smiles at once on Easter morning.

Instead of four smiles, we managed to get a stiff cat (left), a flamingo (center) and an 'almost but not quite' bored teen. The fourth smile... running just a few seconds late I guess.

Better boost my photoshop skills before the next holiday so we don't need to worry so much about them smiling for the pictures.

~~Had to delete the animated .gif. Sorry you missed it.~~

Once we finished the annual photo shoot antics, we enjoyed a nice Easter service at Church and then a pleasant brunch afterwards.

Happy Easter!

Arizona Girls 2011 Spring Break

Now that we're still stuck in the midst of the Worst Spring In History, it's about time I shared with you some pictures from a warmer place and time.

The girls spent a week down in sunny AZ with Nana & Poppy.  They did what everyone in Western Washington dreams of:  Vitamin D Therapy!

Enjoy!

Gymnastics Chick

On April 17, 2011, Alexia participated in the Level 3 State Gymnastics Meet in Bellevue, WA at Sammamish High School.

The whole clan showed up to cheer her onward to success.  Grandparents, Aunts and Cousins!

We captured the action on video for those of you who weren't able to join the party.

This concludes another season of Gymnastics.

The practices will continue while we also start to focus on getting the dogs ready for County Fair... and all the weekend "fun matches" in between.

Back Hand-Spring-Break

As a way to kick off Spring Break, Alexia found herself capable of doing  Back Hand Springs without being spotted or without additional padding.

Luckily, I was available to catch it on phone-video.
Big thanks only to Shane and April Banks who were thoughtful enough to call us and suggest we get someone down to the gym to witness the action).  ;)

There is a second, longer video, but Alexia has decided it is not to be shared with the internet world yet.  Guess we'll but it in the pile of stuff to show off to all her future dates.

Yes, Mikayla, you have a pile too.  :)

The girls are currently down enjoying the spring warmth of Arizona.  I'm at home... soaking up moisture.
